Legal Compliance
Sahmalnour conducts all activities in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations of the countries in which it is based or operates
Personal and Professional Integrity
At Sahmalnour:
- We promote a working environment that encourages the exercise of our values.
- Our practices are of high ethical and professional standards.
- Confidential information acquired in the course of work by Sahmalnour’s employees will not be used for anyone’s personal advantage.
- Sahmalnour’s resources and contributions received are used exclusively in pursuit of the organization’s mission and will not be used for personal advantage of any member
- Sahmalnour prohibits all employees from engaging in any unethical or illegal behavior or practice of any kind under any circumstances.
- If unethical, illegal, or a conflict of interest situation is reported, Sahmalnour will promptly and thoroughly investigate the case and take appropriate actions
- Sahmalnour provides a mechanism by which anyone may provide information pertaining to unethical or illegal matters, or make suggestions for organizational improvements.
- Sahmalnour prohibits all employees from engaging in any situation where there might be a conflict of interest
Governance
At Sahmalnour, we believe that high performance begins with good governance, which is the main task of our active board of trustees, who:
- Sets our mission and strategic direction
- Oversees the finances, operations and policies of Sahmalnour
- Ensures that all investments are processed in accordance with the Islamic investment principles
- Provides credible and effective oversight to the Sahmalnour’s work
- Ensures that any conflicts of interest are avoided or appropriately managed in case they happen.
- Is responsible for monitoring the performance of the Executive Management
- Ensures that important organization policies are in writing, clearly articulated and officially adopted
- Ensures that Sahmalnour has the capacity to carry out its programs effectively
Openness Policy
- Information about our organization is accurate and reflects our policies and practices
- Basic information about the organization is posted on our web site or is otherwise available through other media
Financial Accountability
- Sahmalnour is accountable for the efficient use and administration of funds in pursuit of its mission.
- Provides truthful and accurate information to donors and all other concerned stakeholders, and respects the privacy concerns of donors
- We maintain financial records on a timely basis that accurately reflect the financial transactions of the organization
- All financial transactions are prepared in a way that meets the accepted professional accounting and auditing criteria.
- We ensure that spending practices and policies are reasonable and appropriate to fulfill the mission of the organization
- IWe provide employees a confidential means to report suspected financial impropriety or misuse of organization resources. Our policy prohibits retaliation against persons reporting improprieties.
