All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. And peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Seal of the Prophets, his Household and his Companions.

Indeed, the Noble Qur’an is the Book of Almighty Allah, (…there is no suspicion about it, a guidance to the pious.), (Untruth does not come up to it before it nor from behind it; a successive sending down from (One) Ever-Wise, Ever-Praiseworthy.), (A book whose ayat (verses, signs) are set clear; thereafter expounded from very close to One Ever-Wise, Ever-Cognizant.)

This ever-glorious Book was revealed to the noble Messenger, (The trustworthy Spirit has come down with it, upon your heart, that you may be one of the constant warners, in an evident, Arabic tongue.), as (an evident exposition of everything)

The Noble Qur’an is the life for bodies to live and the light for eyes to see. In the Qur’an, Almighty Allah says:

(And thus We have revealed to you a Spirit of Our Command. In no way did you realize what the Book was, nor the belief; but We have made it a Light, whereby We guide whomever We decide of Our bondmen.)

The Creator has pledged to preserve it, saying:

(Surely We, Ever We, have been sending down the Remembrance, and surely We are indeed Preservers of it.)

Throughout the ages, Muslims have paid a great deal of attention to the Noble Qur’an. They have maintained it in written form, letter by letter, and have adhered to the rules established therein. They also mastered the proper way of reciting it, considered the reasons and the conditions surrounding the revelation of its verses, recorded its different sciences, and transmitted the various opinions regarding its explanation. In addition, they themselves went to great lengths to explain the meanings of the Qur’an and show its miraculous nature as well as its perfect language. They clarified the rules revealed therein and the wisdom behind them.

The most significant aspect of the work offered as a service to the Noble Qur’an is recording, writing and publishing it. This, indeed, is among the greatest of deeds, as it makes easy the recitation and memorization of the Noble Qur’an, and establishes the knowledge and understanding of it. Hence, Muslims compete with one another in attaining this great honor. Rules, emirs, dignitaries and scholars, men and women, were all enthusiastic in this regard. Thus, the Noble Qur’an has spread far and wide.

Today, the Muslim Ummah is witnessing an actual re-awakening, a promising renaissance and a true comeback. This is to be observed in people’s return and attachment to the Noble Qur’an. They have developed a keen interest in reciting, studying as well as contemplating its verses. They abide by its rules and assume the morals taught therein. Undoubtedly, this can only happen when there are abundant supplies of mushafs (copies of the Qur’an) available throughout the world.

We have made a pledge to Almighty Allah that we will serve His Book, endeavor to spread it, to print and distribute it in the famous successively transmitted readings, and to translate its meanings into several languages. We have thus called for the establishment of the project mushaf mada al-hayah (Qur'an for Eternity).

This project aims at providing a financial, management and technical mechanism in order to ensure printing and distributing the Qur'an in large quantities and for an extensive period of time. This shall be carried out by means of Sahm Al-Nour Trust. A donor shall put an amount of money as waqf, which will be invested in an honest and proficient way. Then, the revenues will be spent on the printing and distribution of the Quran.

We have agreed to form the founding board that will supervise and follow up the project. Hence, we call upon all Muslims to participate in this project in order to gain the double reward of spending for the sake of Almighty Allah in the form of waqf, serving the Noble Qur’an and facilitating its learning, as well as the continuation to distribute and disseminate it. As a recompense for this, abundant rewards shall be gained on the Day of Reckoning.

We implore Almighty Allah to make this project a success and to spread it, and to grant every Muslim, through it, a chance to take part in and contribute to serving and spreading the Noble Qur’an. We also implore Him to render this work purely for His sake and make it beneficial for all Muslims.

Supervising and managing the Sahm Al-Nour project is a founding board that comprises a group of senior Muslim scholars and many prominent Muslim figures.
